Job summary

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the Surgery Department in Ironwood. You will plan and organize supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures, and work closely with the surgical team to ensure a safe and efficient patient passage through operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration, continuous learning, and promoting education for colleagues and students as part of Aspirus’ commitment to quality care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
• One-year healthcare/patient care experience required.
• Former OR surgical tech experience or surgical tech program graduate preferred.

As a SURGICAL TECHNOLOGIST with the Surgery Department at Aspirus Ironwood Hospital you are responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Collaboration with all surgical team members is KEY to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. You promote education of yourself, peers, and students.

Experience/Qualifications/Licensure

• Knowledge of patient care standards normally acquired through completion of a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Former operating room surgical tech experience or a graduate of a surgical tech program strongly preferred.
• One-year healthcare/patient care experience required.
• Current BLS preferred.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
