Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking a Surgical Technologist II for full-time (.9 FTE) with 72 hours per pay period. The position involves varied shifts across all days and requires planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for operating rooms.

The ideal candidate will have graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program, CST certification, and BLS. Prior acute care OR experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Surgical standards and practices knowledge typically from an accredited program or 3+ years OR experience.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• One-year acute care surgical experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Respond to level II trauma activations and other emergent surgeries.

Job Description:

The Advanced Surgical Technologist is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures. Competence and confidence are essential for the role. The position requires staff to regularly respond to level II trauma activations and other emergent surgeries.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Knowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program or related field and/or three or more years of related experience in the operating room.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program.
• One-year acute care surgical experience beneficial.
• Current CST -Certified Surgical Technologist or obtain within 18 months of hire.
• Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.
