Allina Health is hiring a Surgical Technologist at United Hospital - Hastings Regina Campus in Hastings, MN. This part-time role supports the surgical team with instrument setup, sterile technique, and intraoperative assistance.

On-call weekend rotation and 8-hour day/evening shifts are involved. Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program or completion of Allina Health's Apprentice program, with 1+ year of experience preferred.

Tasks are supervised by Registered Nurse and delegated by the surgeon. May also perform in the sterile processing function as needed. Will eventually be required to take call after orientation. **Principle Responsibilities*** Participates as a surgical team member + Prepares the OR and sets up for procedures.○ + Identifies supplies, instruments and equipment needed. + Maintains safe environment for patient and other staff, using electrical equipment and instruments correctly. + Follows aseptic technique standards of practice. + Complies with regulatory requirements for point of use care of instruments. + Handles medications and specimens following policies/procedures.* Assists the physician in the scrub role during surgical procedures + Maintains a sterile field. + Anticipates needs for instruments, equipment and other supplies. + Performs sponge, sharps and other counts accurately. + Accounts for all instruments and items on the field. + Communicates to physician and circulator when needs arise during the surgical intervention.* Other duties as assigned. **Required Qualifications*** Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program OR Successful completion of the Surgical Technologist Apprentice program at Allina Health **Preferred Qualifications** * 1+ year of Surgical Technologist experience **Licenses/Certifications*** Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: ◦ Certified Surgical Technologist from The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting within 1 year of hire ◦ Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) Certification within 1 year of hire* Must meet at least ONE of the requirements below: ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association ◦ Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross ◦ Allina in-house BLS training (within 30 days of hire) **Physical Demands*** Medium Work:* Lifting weight up to 50 lbs. occasionally, up to 25 lbs. frequently **Pay Range**### Pay Range: $32.92 to $45.12 per hour### The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
