Job summary

Direct Staffing Inc is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist surgeons in the operating room. Key responsibilities include organizing surgical instruments and maintaining aseptic technique. Candidates must complete an accredited program and preferably have AST certification and prior experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a formal Surgical Technologist training program or Accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• Evidence of Surgical Technologist certification or Licensed Practical Nurse licensure.
• One year prior work experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and residents by organizing and passing surgical instruments.
• Maintain aseptic fields and technique.
• Provide retraction under the direction of the surgeon.

Job description

Provides assistance as necessary to surgeons and residents by selecting, organizing, anticipating and passing surgical instruments, medical supplies and equipment, maintaining aseptic fields and technique and providing retraction under the direction of the surgeon. Completion of a formal Surgical Technologist training program or an Accredited Licensed Practical Nurse program. Evidence of completion of training and/or Surgical Technologist certification; or evidence of Licensed Practical Nurse licensure. Association of Surgical Technologist (AST) certification preferred. One year prior work experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred
