Minimally Invasive Surgery Center of New England in Bedford, NH is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team. You will prepare the room, ensure sterility, and assist surgeons with instruments during procedures.

The ideal candidate has an OR scrub tech background with CST and BLS certification, and 1–2 years of experience in multiple specialties, including Orthopedics. Flexible hours and benefits available.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
• 1–2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Orthopedics.
• CST and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Set up instruments and equipment required for procedures.
• Sterilize equipment and inventory supplies for surgery.
• Prepare the patient for surgery.
• Pass surgeon instruments and sterile supplies during operations.
• Count sponges and sharps before the operation.
• Recount instruments and supplies after the operation.
• Maintain a sterile environment throughout the surgery.
• Stock rooms and assist with daily department tasks.

Job Summary

The Surgical Technician is responsible for ensuring proper care and use of surgical instruments. Anticipates the needs of the surgical team. Establishes and maintains sterile field during surgical procedures in the operating room.

May perform any of the following duties with the goal of preparing the room and the patient for the surgical procedure:

• Setting up the instruments and equipment that is required for the procedure
• Sterilizing equipment and taking an inventory to ensure there are enough supplies for surgery
• Preparing the patient for surgery
• Passing the Surgeon instruments and sterile supplies throughout the operation
• Taking a count of all surgical sponges and sharps prior to the operation
• Recounting surgical instruments and supplies at the end of the operation
• Maintaining an overall sterile environment throughout the surgery
• Stocking rooms, picking supplies for cases, assisting with departmental daily tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma / GED; completion of a Scrub Technician Certification Program.
• 1-2 years of operating room experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties, including Ortho.
