Job summary

EyeCare Partners in Wichita, KS is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the Operating Room team full-time. You will assist surgeons, nurses and surgical assistants, prepare the operating room, scrub and pass instruments, and help maintain sterile technique and patient safety throughout procedures.

Qualified candidates have a High School diploma or GED, and CST and BLS credentials are preferred. Two years of OR experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of hospital main operating room experience preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician (CST) certification preferred; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in surgical operations under supervision of Surgeons, Registered Nurses and Surgical Assistants.
• Prepares, cares for and disposes of specimens taken for laboratory analysis.
• Operates sterilizer, lights, suction, and other operating room equipment.
• Preps, drapes and positions the patient for surgery and ensures sterile technique.
• Maintains records and ensures equipment, supplies and medications are ready.
• Assists with orientation of new staff and participates in a healthy work environment.
