Job summary

MemorialCare Health System in Fountain Valley is seeking a Surgical Technician II to support the operating room team. This role provides surgical assistance under the direction of a Registered Nurse or MD, with emphasis on instrument availability, aseptic technique, and patient flow within the department.

Qualifications include completion of scrub tech program or armed services training, current BLS, and Scrub Tech Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years acute care experience preferred.
• Proficient in medical terminology.
• Ability to fulfill the on-call requirement of the department.
• Completion of scrub tech program or armed services training.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Card.
• Scrub Tech Certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide surgical assistance under RN/MD direction in a safe, effective manner.
• Maintain instruments and aseptic technique.
• Support patient flow within the department.
• Communicate with the surgical team and supervisory staff.
• Assist new staff and serve as a scrub role preceptor.
• Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
