Job Summary

Under supervision, performs duties in the OR to assist the surgical team, following established policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Scrubs on all types of procedures, handles instruments, sutures, sponges, and maintains aseptic technique.
• Prepares for surgeries, ensuring equipment and supplies are ready.
• Maintains a clean, sterile environment, sterilizes equipment, and restocks supplies.
• Assists with patient transportation, verification, and positioning.
• May assist as second circulator, participate in training, evaluate products, and contribute to policy development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited surgical technician program or equivalent training/experience.
• Certification by the Association of Surgical Technologists preferred.
• 1-2 years of surgical technician experience preferred.
