Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technician to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse during surgical procedures.

The role requires preparing the operative field, maintaining aseptic technique, and assisting with instrument handling and specimen management.

Candidate should have a high school diploma, and completion of an accredited surgical technologist program; BLS is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares operative area and maintains aseptic environment during procedures.
• Passes instruments, sponges, and sutures to surgeon and assistants; counts supplies.
• Receives and handles surgical specimens as directed by surgeon; assists with room turnover.
• Transfers and positions patients as directed; maintains confidentiality and adheres to safety guidelines.
• Complies with HIPAA and organizational policies; supports teamwork and patient care.
