Job summary

CommonSpirit Health’s CHI Williston Health in Williston, ND, seeks a Surgical Tech to prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. You will maintain sterile field, assist surgeons, and ensure instrument counts and safety throughout procedures.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist Program.
• Certified First Assistant - CST/CSFA certification.
• Unlicensed Assistive Person: ND (UAP:ND) credential.
• Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare & Maintain: set up procedure rooms with instrumentation, equipment, supplies.
• Sterile Expertise: demonstrate mastery of sterile technique and sterilization.
• Team Support: maintain organized sterile field and adherence to protocols.
• Surgical Assistance: assist surgeons with wound visualization and dressings.
• Anatomy & Instrumentation: apply anatomy knowledge to procedures and instrumentation.
• Accuracy & Safety: perform sponge/needle/instrument counts per procedures.

*Job Summary and Responsibilities*

As our Surgical Tech at CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpirit Health formed between Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health, you'll prepare the operating room for a variety of surgeries. We can't operate without you.

The operating room (OR) runs as a team; every person on the team has an important role that directly impacts the patient. Your success in this role comes from your adaptability and enthusiasm to work with a team taking patients from a diseased process to a healing process.

• *Prepare & Maintain:* Set up procedure rooms with all necessary instrumentation, equipment, and supplies.


• *Sterile Expertise:* Demonstrate mastery of sterile technique, sterilization processes, environmental controls, and instrument decontamination.


• *Team Support:* Establish and maintain an organized sterile field, ensuring all team members adhere to sterile environment protocols.


• *Surgical Assistance:* Assist surgeons by providing visualization of the surgical wound, aiding with wound closure, and applying sterile dressings.


• *Anatomy & Instrumentation:* Apply your knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to surgical procedures, and advance your understanding of instrumentation across various surgical services.


• *Accuracy & Safety:* Perform accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to established procedures.
