Job summary

Eye Health America, partnering with West Georgia Eye Care Center, is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support procedures in the operating room. The role requires assisting the surgeon and nurse, maintaining sterile technique, and ensuring readiness of instruments and supplies.

Preferred is Surgical Technologist certification and at least one year of surgical experience or completion of a formal program. Overtime may be required, with a comprehensive benefits package and on-site

• At least one year of surgical experience or completion of a formal surgical technician program.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of supplies.
• Sets up sterile field with instruments and supplies per standards.
• Observes aseptic technique and informs team of breaches.
• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon and assistants as needed.
• Ensures all instruments and supplies are removed from the field after procedures.

West Georgia Eye Care Center, an affiliate of Eye Health America, is a growing, multi‑specialty ophthalmology practice. We are seeking a surgical technologist to assist the surgeon and nurse in rendering professional care to patients undergoing surgical procedures within the center in accordance with established procedures. Overtime may be required.

Job Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure.
• Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
• Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards.
• Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and reports break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon.
• Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed in a manner that keeps their attention on the operative field.
• Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field.
