Eye Health America is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Clemson Eye to support the surgeon and nurse during procedures, ensuring proper setup and adherence to aseptic technique.

The role involves preparing the operating room, maintaining inventory, and handling instruments and supplies per AORN standards, with overtime possible.

Formación

• Surgical Technologist certification preferred, but not required.
• At least one year of surgical experience or completion of a formal surgical technician program required.

Responsabilidades

• Assists in preparing the operating room for the planned procedure.
• Assists with maintaining an adequate inventory of supplies.
• Sets up sterile operating field with instruments and supplies necessary for that procedure; arranges instruments, sutures, drapes, and supplies per AORN standards.
• Observes strict aseptic technique throughout the entire procedure and report break-in technique to the circulating nurse and the surgeon.
• Passes instruments, supplies, and sutures to the surgeon and assistants as needed and in such a manner so that their attention is not diverted from the operative field.
• Sees that all instruments, needles, sponges, and other supplies are removed from the operative field.
