Job summary

St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, NJ seeks an Operating Room Tech to prepare sterile supplies and instruments for surgical procedures and to maintain a sterile field while assisting the surgeon with instruments during cases.

The position is full-time and daytime shift. Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, ORT training or 3+ years surgical scrubbing experience, and a current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

Education and Work Experience

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014. 2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred). 3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics). 4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.). 5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
