Saint Francis Healthcare System is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient under supervision. You will handle instruments and equipment, maintain the sterile field, and anticipate the surgeon's needs to ensure quality patient care during procedures.

The role is full-time with day shift hours and on-call rotation. A high school diploma or GED is required, with CST preferred and BLS certification mandatory.

• Prior completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program is preferred.
• Experience in a surgical tech role or completion of a training program is required.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of the surgeon and the circulating nurse and overall direction of the Assistant Managers, OR Manager, Director of Surgical Services and Vice President of Patient Care Services the surgical technician assists in the nursing care and presentation of the surgical patient. The technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. Has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. Has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

JOB DETAILS AND REQUIREMENTS

Up to $25,000 Sign-on bonus or $15,000 in Student Loan Repayment!*

Type: Full Time (80 hours per 2 week pay period, with benefits)

Typical Hours: Day shift, 10 hours/shift, on call rotation

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED- required
• Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program- preferred

Certification & Licensures:

• BLS Certification - required
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)- preferred

Experience:

• Prior experience within a Surgical Technician role OR completion of a surgical tech training/course- required
