Job summary

St. Tammany Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist/LPN for PRN positions in Covington, LA. Under RN supervision, you will assist in the operating room, handle instruments, sponges and biopsies, and support the surgical team to ensure safety and efficiency.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program, possible certification, and BLS/ILCOR with manikin check-off. Louisiana LPN license may apply for LPNs with surgical tech experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of Surgical Technology.
• Surgical Technology certification preferred.
• LPNs must have 1 year of surgical technology experience, acute care setting preferred.
• Current Louisiana LPN license (if applicable).
• BLS certification through ILCOR with required manikin check-off.

Responsibilities

• Assist with sterile technique, instrument handling and passing for the surgical team.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and ensure availability of supplies.
• Maintain safe patient environment and uphold infection control standards.
