Job summary

North Central Surgical Center in Dallas, TX is seeking a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support operating room teams. The CST will set up sterile fields, prepare instruments and supplies, and assist circulating personnel as needed.

Under RN supervision, the CST will maintain asepsis, stock OR supplies, and participate in call coverage to ensure continuous patient services. CST certification and BLS are required; OR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of Operating Room CST experience is required.
• CST certification is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for surgical procedures under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Applies knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies used in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments and supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system to ensure continuous patient services.

We are currently looking for a PRN Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team.

The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will support our team by being responsible for the following:

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
• Applies knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
• Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.
• Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Assists circulating nurse in maintenance of physician preference cards.

Required Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of previous Operating Room CST experience is required.
• CST certification, required.
• Current BLS required.
• One year of Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy experience, preferred.
