Job summary

North Central Surgical Center in Dallas, TX, affiliated with Baylor Scott & White, seeks a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support OR teams. The CST will set up sterile fields, handle instruments, and assist the circulating nurse, with a rotation call system to ensure patient services availability.

Requirements include CST certification, active BLS, and at least one year of OR CST experience; anesthesia and joint/spine procedural exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of operating room CST experience.
• CST certification is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• One year of Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and maintains a sterile field for surgical procedures under RN supervision.
• Applies knowledge of instruments, equipment, and supplies used in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system to provide continuous patient services.
• Follows guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Maintains knowledge of procedures performed in the OR.
• Re-stocks OR supplies as caseload permits.
• Assists circulating nurse with physician preference cards.

We are currently looking for a full time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join our team.

TheCertified Surgical Technologist (CST)will support our team by being responsible for the following:

• Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, sets up and maintains a sterile field for minor and major surgical procedures applying special knowledge of asepsis.
• Applies knowledge of specialized instruments, equipment, and supplies utilized in the Operating Room.
• Organizes instruments, equipment, and supplies for easy access and maximum efficiency.
• Participates in a rotational call system as needed to provide for continuous availability of patient services.
• Follows appropriate guidelines for setting up sterile field and instruments for designated procedures.
• Maintains current knowledge of procedures performed in the Operating Room.
• Re-stocks Operating Room supplies as caseload permits.
• Assists circulating nurse in maintenance of physician preference cards.

Required Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of previous Operating Room CST experience is required.
• CST certification, required.
• Current BLS required.
• One year of Total Joint, Complex Spine, and Arthroscopy experience, preferred.
