Qualifications

• Technical School graduate of Surgical Technology or Practical Nursing program.
• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Applied Sciences.
• 0-2 years operating room surgical technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and maintains the operating room for surgical cases, equipment and supplies organized.
• Assists the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies accurately and efficiently.
• Handles surgical instruments and ensures proper sterilization, inspection, and assembly.
• Performs sponge, needle, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse.
• Assists in patient positioning, draping, and transfer methods for safety and comfort.
• Maintains physician preference cards and ensures available supplies for procedures.
• Reprocesses and sterilizes instruments following established protocols.
• Restocks supplies and keeps ORs ready for subsequent cases.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
