Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City Dallas is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support our cardiovascular operations. You will set up the surgical suite, assist during procedures, and collaborate with a skilled team using advanced equipment to ensure safe, efficient care.

This role offers strong staffing support and ongoing education opportunities. Qualified candidates have CST certification, BCLS, and 2+ years CVOR experience, with pediatric or adult CVOR exposure preferred.

Qualifications

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 30 days of start.
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.
  • Current CST or equivalent surgical technology training (Army/Navy/Air Force/Marine Corps/Coast Guard).
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS provider.
  • 2+ years of Cardiovascular experience in the role.
  • Pedi or Adult CVOR experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment.
  • Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety.
  • Scrubbing in and assisting with instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating team needs.
  • Monitoring patients and equipment throughout procedures and responding to concerns.
  • Upholding sterile technique and efficient room turnover.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
  • Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures
  • Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety
  • Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs
  • Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns
  • Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment
What Qualifications You Will Need
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technologist
  • Current CST or completion of an appropriate training program for Surgical Technology in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps or Coast Guard of the United States
  • Current American Heart Association or American Red Cross BCLS provider
  • 2+ years of Cardiovascular experience in the role is required
  • Pedi or Adult CVOR experience Required
