Job summary

Guthrie in Sayre, PA seeks a Surgical Technician to support sterile technique and assist the operating team under RN supervision. You will follow established procedures, maintain instrument counts, and participate in ongoing education to stay current with best practices.

This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure patient safety and efficient procedures. Prior training or certification is preferred, with on‑the‑job instruction provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technician School or LPN with current state license.
• CST certification preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competence in technical skills relative to clinical practice.
• Maintains patient care concepts and sterile technique during procedures.
• Participates in orientation and training to attain competency.
• Keeps current with continuing education credits as required.
• Promotes teamwork and collaboration among the surgical team.
• Adheres to nursing department policies and unit guidelines.
• Demonstrates time management, flexibility and priority setting in assignments.
• Attends unit meetings and helps resolve problems.
