Job summary

UNM Sandoval Regional Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Tech to assist in the operating room under RN supervision. Candidates must have a Surgical Tech program diploma and a nationally recognized Surgical Technology Certification to qualify for the Certified OR Tech role.

You will scrub and assist with multiple services, maintain sterile fields, and participate in patient care and case turnover in a Level I Trauma Hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have Surgical Tech program diploma and national certification.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Surgical Technologist certification is required or pending.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Follow patient safety policies, procedures and protocols.
• Assist with preparing and draping the patient and sterile field.
• Set up instruments, supplies and equipment for each case.
• Maintain sterile technique and turnover between procedures.
• Assist the surgeon and support team during operations.
• Ensure proper handling of specimens and documentation.
