Job summary

Ardent Health Services in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician to join our operating room team.

You will assist surgeons with procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse, convey sterile instruments, and help ensure patient safety and compliance with policy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, sterile technique and medical terminology.
• Proficient in OR instruments and supplies.
• Six months of operating room or ambulatory surgery experience.
• BLS certification to be obtained within 14 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
• Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Certified OR Tech.
• 1 year OR experience.
• CORT; or CST
