Job summary

Qualifications

Must have CST credential.
Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program.
Experience in hospital operating rooms (1+ year) preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology and aseptic techniques.

Responsibilities

Prepare operating room for surgery by setting up instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain a high degree of cleanliness in the operating room.
Pass instruments and other supplies to surgeons during surgery.
Monitor supplies and equipment count during surgery.
Assist in dressing changes to prevent wound complications.
Clean and sterilize instruments according to hospital protocols.
Ensure all medications and implants are handled appropriately.
Assist in the recording of medical documentation related to the operative procedure.
Participate in a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education courses each year.
