Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System seeks a Surgical Technologist for Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA. You will deliver surgical care, maintain a sterile field, and assist physicians as part of the perioperative team.

The role requires graduating from an accredited Surgical Technology program, with potential substitutions for military training; annual mandatory education is expected. Schedule is 7am-5:30pm, four days a week with on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Surgical Technology program is required.
• Military Surgical Technology program may substitute for an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Annual mandatory education requirement is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs preoperative preparation and assembles required supplies.
• Acts as scrub person during operative procedures and maintains sterile field.
• Applies knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pharmacology to patient care.
• Participates in intraoperative procedure steps and case coordination.
• Demonstrates leadership, orientation, and precepting of students and staff.
