Job summary

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist the physician during surgery in the OR across multiple specialties. The role involves technical and patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse and serving as a resource within the department.

Minimum education includes high school or GED and graduation from a Surgical Technology Program. Certification as a Surgical Technologist and BLS certification are preferred and required, respectively, to ensure

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School Diploma or GED; Graduate of a Surgical Technology Program.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Certification as a Surgical Technologist or 3 years of surgical tech experience.
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: N/A
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Certification as a Surgical Technologist preferred; BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

Facilitating patient care by assisting the physician during surgery in the Operating Room (OR) for multiple specialties, performing technical and some patient care duties under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Functions as a clinical specialist across numerous service specialty lines. Assumes additional responsibilities for maintaining surgical specialties as necessary and serves as a resource. Functions on a more global level and is more involved in detailed surgical endeavors related to the surgery department.
