Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM seeks a day shift, part-time Surgical Technician to join our operating room team. You will assist surgeons, handle sterile instruments, and ensure patient safety under RN supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and completion of a Surgical Technology program, plus OR-related knowledge and a valid BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preference given to CST/CORT and 1 year OR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Anatomy & Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation knowledge.
• Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with surgical procedures in the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to include conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.
