Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a day shift, full-time Surgical Technician to join the operating room team in Albuquerque, NM. You will assist surgeons with procedures, convey sterile instruments, and support patient safety under the supervision of a registered nurse.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, and BLS certification with 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with procedures in the operating room under RN supervision.
• Conveys sterile instruments and supplies; ensures patient safety and compliance.

Learn About a Day In the Life of a Surgical Tech:

Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to include conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
• Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

• Certified OR Tech.
• 1 year OR experience.
• CORT; or CST
