Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED and surgical technician certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• Familiar with surgical instruments, sterile technique and asepsis.
• 2+ years hospital OR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during procedures by preparing and handling instruments.
• Maintain sterile field and infection control standards.
• Anticipate needs of surgical team to facilitate operations.
• Ensure OR is safe, organized and equipped for procedures.
• Collaborate with nurses and anesthesiologists to maximize patient safety.
• Perform instrument counts and manage supplies before procedures.
