Job summary

Virtua Health in New Jersey is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the operating room team under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician. You will handle instruments, supplies and equipment, maintaining a sterile field and assisting during procedures to ensure patient safety and efficient workflow.

Responsibilities include scrubbing, preparing, and setting up for procedures, transporting patients as needed, and collecting specimens per policy.

Qualifications

• One year OR training or experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program.
• BLS certification.
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred.
• New Jersey CE requirement: 15 CEs per year.

Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Surgical Technologist handles the instruments, supplies and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure.

He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Salary

$28.63 - $44.54 Hourly
