Job summary

AdventHealth in Overland Park, Kansas seeks a certified Surgical Tech to support operating rooms, ensuring sterile technique, accurate instrument handling, and patient safety. The role involves scrubbing, gowning, and gloving, preparing sterile fields, and counting instruments with the circulator.

The position requires BLS and CST/NBSTSA certification with 2+ years of experience in a surgical setting. It offers day shifts, full-time hours, and comprehensive benefits from Day One.

Job Description:

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures.


• Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures.


• Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning.


• Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed.


• Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants.


• Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient.


• Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy.


• Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately.


• Helps in draping sterile field.


• Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures.


• Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures.


• Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.


• Performs other duties as assigned.
