Job summary

Texas Health Huguley seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team. You will scrub, gown, glove, and pass instruments, while maintaining strict sterile technique and assisting with patient positioning and counts for each procedure.

Responsibilities include preparing dressings, setting up sterile fields, and assisting with terminal cleaning. Required CST certifications and a minimum of surgical tech experience ensure readiness for high‑quality patient care.

Qualifications

Job Description:

Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Performs other duties as assigned. Helps in draping sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures. Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization.
