Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a certified surgical technologist to join our operating rooms. You will prepare sterile field, pass instruments, and assist the surgeon and team during procedures, ensuring counts and sterile technique.

Requirements include High School diploma or technical training, CST certification, BLS, and 2+ years of experience preferred. This PRN Day shift role offers growth within a faith-based health system.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Scrubs, gowns, and gloves for surgical procedures. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for procedures, displaying knowledge of procedure and patient positioning. Performs appropriate counts with circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Gowns and gloves surgeon and assistants. Assists other team members with terminal cleaning of the room and prepping for the next patient. Handles surgical specimens with 100% accuracy. Recognizes and responds immediately to emergency situations appropriately. Helps in draping sterile field. Passes instruments and supplies to surgeon during procedures. Maintains the highest standard of sterile technique during procedures. Prepares sterile dressings and cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Performs other duties as assigned.

Work Experience

2+ years as certified surgical tech [Preferred]
