Job summary

UF Health Jacksonville Hospital is seeking a dedicated Surgical Tech II to assist surgeons with instrumentation and sterile technique in the operating room, while providing patient care in clinical settings. You will handle and maintain basic surgical equipment and ensure safe, efficient room turnover and procedure readiness.

Required education includes a high school diploma or GED and completion of a surgical technologist program. Certification within 1 year of hire plus BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of surgical technologist program.
• Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of hire/transfer; BLS from AHA or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques in the OR.
• Provides patient care in clinical settings.
• Maintains and handles basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• Ensures patient safety and adheres to hospital policies during procedures.
• Performs roles under supervision of licensed providers and RNs.
• Participates in safety training and continuous education.
