Job summary

Corewell Health’s Troy Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support our operating room team in Troy, MI. The role includes maintaining a sterile field, preparing the surgical suite, and intraoperative instrument handling to ensure patient safety and procedural efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least an associate degree or equivalent, completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program.
• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and prepare the surgical suite.
• Intraoperative handling of instruments.
• Maintain the sterile field during procedures.
• Monitor changing conditions and respond as needed.
• Serve as a preceptor if needed.

Scope of work

The Surgical Technologist II will be responsible for maintaining and preparing the surgical suite, intraoperative handling of instruments, maintenance of the sterile field, and evaluation of changing conditions during the surgical procedures, and making appropriate responses as needed. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols. May serve as a preceptor as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma Required
• Associate degree or equivalent Required
• Completion of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or equivalent training program (military, etc.) Not all schools require an associate degree Or 1 year of equivalent experience Required
• Minimum of 1 year of Surgical Technologist experience (Clinical rotations do count as experience) Preferred
• AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire Required
