Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team under close supervision. You will prepare the OR, pass instruments, and maintain sterile technique during procedures, while supporting patient care during and after surgery in accordance with policies.

Responsibilities include draping, tissue retraction, instrument counts, and rapid response to emergencies, all while keeping the Mayo Stand and back table organized and safe.

Qualifications

• Experience as a scrub tech in operating rooms is required or recent OR training completed.
• Certification as Surgical Technologist preferred or required within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist during surgery by preparing and organizing the OR.
• Pass instruments and maintain aseptic technique.
• Assist with patient care during and after surgery and respond to emergencies.
• Ensure proper draping, counting, and instrument management per policy.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and environment in a safe, sterile manner.
