Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a skilled full-time Surgical Technician to join the perioperative team in the Operating Room. You will work under supervision to prepare and maintain a sterile field, supply instruments for procedures, and uphold patient safety through strict aseptic techniques and universal precautions.

The ideal candidate has an accredited Surg Tech program, hospital training, or 1 year of hospital Surg Tech experience, with BCLS within 90 days of hire and preferred

Qualifications

• Graduated of an accredited Surg Tech program; or Hospital Sponsored Training Program; or Minimum of 1 year of Surg Tech Experience in a Hospital Setting
• BCLS required within 90 days of hire
• Prior Endoscopy Experience; Certified OR Technician; or Certified SPD Technician preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain a sterile surgical field and provide instrumentation for procedures
• Ensure patient safety through aseptic techniques and universal precautions
• Facilitate communication with patients, physicians, nursing staff and other hospital departments
• Assist with draping, instrumentation, suturing and supply management per SOPs
• Adhere to AORN and AAMI standards and sterilization processes

Summary Job Description: Surgical Tech - Operating Room

We are seeking a skilled and experienced full-time Surgical Technician to join our perioperative team. In this role, you will work under the guidance of registered nurses and the supervision of the Lead Tech, SPD/Endoscopy Supervisor, Charge RN, Nurse Manager, and Director. Your primary responsibilities include preparing and maintaining a sterile surgical field, providing appropriate instrumentation and supplies for surgical and endoscopic procedures, and ensuring patient safety through adherence to aseptic techniques and universal precautions. You will also play a key role in facilitating effective communication with patients, physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital departments. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of operative procedures, including draping, instrumentation, suturing, and supply management, as well as expertise in sterilization processes, hand antisepsis, sharps handling, and compliance with AORN and AAMI standards.

Requirements:

Graduated of an accredited Surg Tech program; or Hospital Sponsored Training Program; or Minimum of 1 year of Surg Tech Experience in a Hospital Setting BCLS required within 90 days of hire 1 year of Experience Required Certified Endoscopy Technician required within 1 year of hire Prior Endoscopy Experience; Certified OR Technician; or Certified SPD Technician preferred
