Job summary

Prisma Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to join the Liver Transplant Service at Greenville Memorial Hospital. The role supports the surgical team in the operating room, assisting with hemostasis, exposure, and closure under the attending surgeon's direction.

The ideal candidate has completed a CAAHEP/NBCC surgical technology pathway and maintains CST/CSFA credentials as applicable. This is a patient‑focused, team‑oriented position in a dynamic perioperative environment.

Qualifications

• Completion of a surgical technology program is required.
• Maintains surgical technology certifications (CSFA/TS-C) as applicable.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides hemostasis, exposure, and closure assistance as directed by the surgeon.
• Places and secures retractors, assists with suctioning, irrigation, and tissue handling.
• Drapes and prepares patients, ensuring proper positioning to prevent injury.
• Performs wound closure with sutures and skin staples and applies dressings.
• Assists with injections and handling of medications per surgeon direction.
• Monitors and maintains patient safety and supports team training.
