Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Grapevine, TX is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (First Assistant) to support surgeons and teams in major procedures. This PRN role requires 1-3 call shifts and attendance at a one-week orientation from 8am to 5pm.

Eligible candidates must graduate from an accredited surgical technology program, have 2 years of experience, and hold a CST or CSFA with BLS. Strong OR protocol and teamwork skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must be a CST or CSFA from NBSTA or NCCT.
• BLS certification required or to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• Grad of an Accredited Surgical Technology program.

Responsibilities

• Ensures supplies, equipment, and instruments are available and working for each procedure.
• Updates surgeon preference cards and prepares operating room for procedures.
• Scrubs for cases and assists the surgeon during procedures.
• Prepares and positions patient, passes sterile supplies, and manages specimen handling.
• Coordinates with nursing and vendor teams for equipment and supplies.
