Job summary

Mercy Health in Toledo, OH, is seeking a Surgical Tech First Assistant for St. Vincent Medical Center. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and participate in aseptic technique during operative procedures, assisting in instrument coordination, patient care, and procedure support.

The role requires CST or pursuit of CST within 6 months, First Assistant certification, and BLS. This is a collective bargaining unit position with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Certified Surgical Technologist or will achieve within 6 months
• First Assistant Certification required
• AHA BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Retracts during operative procedures and assists in instrument handling
• Acts as scrub/basic assistant as defined by policy
• Performs circulator tasks as delegated by RN
• Maintains steril integrity of supplies and equipment
• Supports team communication for safe and efficient procedures
