Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in Surgical Technology (required).
• One year of experience as a Surgical Technologist (required).
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or NBSTA/ TS-C/ NCCT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Functions as the scrub person and assists the provider during operative procedures by assembling supplies and equipment.
• Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Maintains an organized sterile field and ensures sterility; provides instruments and supplies to the team during surgery.
• Retrieves and labels specimens and communicates findings to the circulator.
• Reports implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing to the circulator.
• Prepares complete case preparation and adapts to special instrument or equipment needs for patient populations.
