Job summary

Novant Health's Matthews Medical Center is seeking a part-time Surgical Technologist to join a fast-paced, team-focused operating room. You will prepare the OR, arrange sterile equipment, and assist doctors during surgeries to support safe patient care.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, plus CST/SA qualifications or military OR training, with a preference for prior surgical tech experience and certification within 12 months for non-credentialed applicants.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training (68D – Operating Room Specialist) is preferred; incumbents without accreditation must obtain certification within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons and nurses to facilitate safe, efficient invasive procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms and arrange sterile equipment to support surgeries.
• Ensure sterile technique and aseptic environment throughout procedures.
