Job summary

Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, GA, part of HCA Healthcare, invites you to join as a Surgical Tech Extern PRN. You will support the operating room, assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery, and help maintain a sterile, safe environment.

Qualified candidates have BLS, a High School Grad/GED, and either an Associate Degree or a certificate. This PRN role offers exposure to a busy surgical service within a 230+ bed acute-care hospital serving the Middle-Georgia community.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• High School Graduate / GED required.
• Associate Degree or Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Organize and stock the operating room with instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
• Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery including transport, positioning, and comfort.
• Support the surgical team by managing sterile instruments, passing tools, and helping with counts and equipment during procedures.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sterile environment through room turnover, restocking, and infection control practices.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, families, and team members while protecting patient privacy and safety.
