Job summary

The Tri-State Surgery Center, jointly owned by Medical Associates Clinic and MercyOne Medical Center, seeks a Surgical Tech for a fast-paced outpatient setting. Responsibilities include assisting with surgery under the circulating nurse, preparing supplies, maintaining sterile fields, and stocking rooms.

Mon-Fri daytime hours with no nights or weekends. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking in a busy operating suite.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Three months to one year of related experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs surgical team functions under the direction of the circulating nurse, including assisting with surgery.
• Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for the surgical procedures.
• Maintains accurate surgeon preference cards and handles specimens appropriately.
• Maintains sterile items and sterile field; sterilizes and handles instruments.
• Receives, distributes and stocks supplies; rotates and removes outdated supplies.
• Completes all other assigned projects and duties.
