Job summary

LH Northeast Surgery, part of Lexington Health, seeks a dedicated Surgical Technologist for full-time day shifts. The role focuses on maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring operating room readiness to maximize patient safety.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, assisting with patient positioning, and adhering to infection control protocols under RN and surgeon supervision. NBSTSA certification and CPR are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Minimum Years of Experience: None.
• Certification: National NBSTSA certification (or equivalent as per HR policies). CPR certification required.
• Training: Completion of recognized OR technologist program or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons under supervision of RN and medical staff.
• Prepare operating room and maintain sterile technique.
• Pass instruments, sponges and sutures to the surgeon during procedures.
• Maintain equipment readiness and infection control standards.
• Assist in positioning patients and applying dressings as needed.
• Document instrumentation counts and regulatory compliance.
