Job summary

Lexington Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to assist in the operating room under the supervision of registered nurses and surgeons. The role focuses on maintaining a safe OR environment, ensuring sterile technique, and supporting the team with instrument handling and setup for invasive and minimally invasive procedures.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, ensuring proper counts, preparing the operative field, and assisting anesthesia and circulator staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Required Certifications: NBSTSA Certification; CPR Certification.
• Required Training: Completion of a recognized OR Technician course or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assists in preparing the OR and ensuring sterile technique.
• Passes instruments and supplies to the surgeon and circulator.
• Maintains instrument counts and labels drugs on the field.
• Performs duties as a robotic first assist where applicable.
• Complies with infection control and safety policies.
