Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Surgical Technologist Non-Certified to support the operating room team. You will prepare the operative suite, assist with instrumentation, draping, and sterile technique, and help ensure patient safety in moderate to high acuity cases under RN guidance.

The role emphasizes teamwork, ongoing education, and adherence to safety standards, including performance improvements and student mentorship within Wellstar’s perioperative program.

Qualifications

• Completion of accredited program or LPN requires operating room experience
• BLS or ARC-BLS certification upon hire
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task in stressful situations
• Knowledge of surgical procedures and asepsis

Responsibilities

• Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures
• Sets up sterile table with instruments and supplies
• Performs surgical counts with circulator
• Assists in draping sterile field and passing instruments
• Maintains sterile technique and prepares dressings
• Prepares room for next patient and assists with turnover
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives
• Mentors students and new hires
