Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford in Murfreesboro, TN is hiring for an Operating Room role. This full-time position supports the safe, efficient performance of surgical procedures, prepares the sterile and non-sterile instruments, and assists the surgeon by supplying tools during operations.

You will help with patient positioning and draping, monitor instrument counts, and ensure readiness of the surgical suite. A current BLS certification and a qualifying education background are required.

Qualifications

• Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

• Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures.
• Prepare surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
• Hand required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitor and track instruments counts throughout procedures.
• Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required
