Job summary

Mercy Ozark is seeking a dedicated support team member to assist the perioperative unit. Under supervision, you will help prepare and turnover operating rooms, assist with patient transport and positioning, and manage equipment and supplies to maintain safe, efficient surgery schedules.

This full-time role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days), with a focus on patient safety, infection prevention, and collaborative care within the Mercy

FULL TIME

Supports the surgical team by preparing and turning over operating rooms between procedures, helping ensure safe, efficient patient care and optimized surgical schedules. Assists with patient transport and positioning, equipment and supply management, data collection, and departmental operations while collaborating with the healthcare team to maintain workflow throughout the perioperative environment.

MINIMUM Requirements

Required Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Certifications

• BLS required or may obtain within 90 days of hire. Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) may be required per location of employment.

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties

Safety/Risk Management

• Follows Mercy policy and procedures related to safety, confidentiality, and patient rights/regulations.
• Demonstrates knowledge of and practices sound infection prevention techniques.
• Assesses safety needs and provides for a safe environment: ex: Fall Precautions; Restraint Management; Patient Identification; Unit/Departmental Specific Policies; Safe Patient Handling
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities that ensure and enhance quality of patient care.

Technology

• Utilizes unit specific technology to perform daily tasks and maintain appropriate communications (ex: computer, pagers, zone phones, Rover, etc.).
