Job summary

Mercy Hospital South is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Surgical Stepdown Unit in St. Louis, MO. Roles support patient wellness under RN/LPN supervision, performing both clinical and non-clinical tasks as part of a collaborative team.

Shifts include Day and Night with part-time (24 hrs/week) and full-time (36 hrs/week) options. Training opportunities are available through Mercy’s Apprenticeship program, and a sign-on bonus is offered for eligible

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED; CNA/CPTC certification or enrollment in healthcare program.
• BLS/CPR training helpful but not required at hire.
• No prior experience required for entry into Surgical Stepdown unit.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the EMR.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, toileting, mobility).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• For PCT: perform phlebotomy, wound care, and basic post-op care.
