Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Associate (PCA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO. The role supports individualized patient care under RN/LPN direction and participates in a team-based environment on General Surgery 3W.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC certification or enrollment in a healthcare program.
• No prior experience required.
• Physical ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 lbs and stand long shifts.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) within 1 month of hire.

Responsibilities

• Record vital signs and enter data into the EMR.
• Assist patients with daily needs (meals, bathing, mobility).
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• PCT duties include phlebotomy, wound care, IV/FOLEY removal, tracheostomy care.
